Men's Ministry

At Vanguard we desire to be about real issues, real feelings, real life, and real relationships. Vanguard realizes there are dozens of conflicting voices telling men how to be men. We also realize that there is a passion in most men to be the person God is calling them to be. This passion often gets lost in the day to day busyness of life, or the sins that so easily entangle us and instead of one’s true calling coming to forefront—one’s counterfeit life becomes reality.

Vanguard’s men’s ministry believes that the heart of men is what God desires to transform and empower for His Kingdom. It is God’s character in men that Vanguard desires to see lived out and transformed in life, friendships, and families. We believe that this will take place when men have the opportunity to build new relationships and grow deeper with other men, families, and friends. Vanguard’s men’s ministry is designed to provide environments throughout the year for men to connect, form new relationships, and perhaps develop a group of guys that might journey through life together. These relationships are not formed for the sake of only enduring life, but to live out the calling God has placed on all of us.

We desire to live out God’s character in us through five main core values:

1. Full Disclosure: Refuse to hide sin, no hidden sin.
2. Seek Purity: engage & pursue God.
3. Embrace Brokenness: Thinking and feeling with emotions, not running to escape.
4. Accept Servant Leadership Responsibilities: at home, work, and in service to God
5. Enjoy Life: embrace, live, enjoy the life that God has given us.
