The LinX Young Married's Ministry

...to link young young married couples by strengthening our REAL relationships with Christ, our spouses and the church.

Welcome to The LinX!  We serve as Vanguard's ministry to the young married couples of Vanguard.  Whether you and your spouse are young in marriage, age or heart, we are happy to have you join us as we live out God's calling on our lives to live in community.  We believe God designed us for community and not just with our spouse or kids.  Through accountability with other couples in groups or men and women in their own groups, we strive to build relationships in which we can speak into each others lives and accept others speaking into our own.

Our model is Acts 2:42 "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship; to the breaking of bread and to prayer." We would like all young marrieds to be involved in relationships and activities that encourage and challenge their spiritual walk.

What exactly is the LinX?  Is it right for us?

While The LinX started specifically as a group of couples in their 20's with no children, people decided to procreate and (against their will) age.  And being as we like children and getting older isn't as bad as we thought it would be, we have grown and expanded the group to whoever is comfortable hanging out.  We recommend anyone interested in hooking up with some youthful married couples, stop by one of our events, join a group or check us out on Sunday mornings (see below).  To be added to our newsletter, shoot an email to thelinx@vanguardchurch.org and we'll spam you with the best of em =).  You can also check back here for our calendar of events or hit the links at the right for our presence on facebook and twitter.

Small Groups, Events, What-not's

• Sunday Morning DrinX with the LinX - Our regularly scheduled program, join us every Sunday morning in the sun room by the Xcafe at 11am as we get together and discuss the mornings message.  This is the most convenient way to stop by and get involved and if you really like us you might even join us for lunch afterwards.
   
• Small Group Book Studies - Amidst other festivities, we young married like to get together for a book study now and then at one of our couple's houses.  This is a great opportunity to get to know other couples in a more private environment.  Past books have included Love and Respect, His Needs, Her Needs and Sacred Marriage.  Keep an eye on the bulletin and monthly emails for more info!

• Quarterly and monthly social events - Along with all the other fun we have, we try to pepper our year with big tent events like camping, rafting, parties, movie nights, game nights, etc.  These are another great way to get connected with other couples in a more social setting.  As with all our delightful ventures, stay tuned to the calendar and emails for current events.


• Life Groups - Along with the rest of the Vanguard body, the Young Married's here are plugged in through Life Groups.  If you're interested in a Life Group specifically with some young couples in it, hang out with us at one of our events and we can probably find an open group to plug you in to.

The Help (Leadership)

The LinX is lead by a 4-person powerhouse team made up of Kirk and Erika Bode and Roger and Elisa French.  They can be found Sunday mornings at DrinX with the LinX or hanging out at our myriad events.  But they're always interested in help.  If you have any interest in leading a group yourself or pioneering some events, hit them up and brainstorm together.  We're always excited to hear what is on the hearts and minds of others in the church.  For more info, comments or questions you can reach us by emailing thelinx@vanguardchurch.org or fellowship in person.
