Vanguard Women's Ministry

Our 2007 Breathe theme has been Overcoming Obstacles to Intimacy with God.  Together we have explored what our obstacles are, laid them at the foot of the cross and begun to live in freedom.   2 Corinthians 3:17 says, "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."  What a powerful and life-changing truth!  Those of you who were at the retreat this past March experienced a compelling time of worship, teaching, fellowship, and, hopefully, intimacy with our Savior.  Some of you have been impacted by Breathe small groups or through relationships strengthened by Bunco, the Valentine Tea or other women's events.  Some have served with us; some cried with us; some rejoiced with us.  We are thankful for all of you; Breathe only exists because of you, beloved women of Vanguard!

Now that we have journeyed together through overcoming obstacles to intimacy with God, we begin a new journey.  We have identified our obstacles and have begun to walk in freedom from them.  That leaves a void.  Who are we, women, if we are not defined by our obstacles?  We are women of God!  We are daughters of the King; we are brides of Christ; we are the spiritual nurturers of the Church; we are heiresses of promise.  We are broken and redeemed; the heroines in a Biblical fairy tale.  We invite you to join us as we explore a breathtaking theme in 2008:  A Woman's Intimacy with God.  God's Word has so much to say about us, women!  Our femininity has been intricately designed by God to fulfill an eternal purpose for His magnificent glory.  No matter what season of life you are currently in, we believe the Lord has something to speak to you this year about your glorious identity as God's woman.

July 25, Aug 29 - Bunco Nights - 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm; Vanguard Church - Come and join other women for a night of fun and laughter while playing Bunco.  Bunco is an easy-to-learn, fun to play dice game.  Please bring a snack to share and invite a friend! 
July 26th, August 30th - Monthly Breathe Breakfast - join other women for food and fellowship at Golden Corral (Woodmen, near Powers) from 9:00 am - 10:30 am.  Please RSVP to Trisha Meagher at 472-7935.
